BACKgROUND

Wendy Yu is Zhejiang-born and has been exposed to the world of business from an early age. Her father is Mr Jingyuan Yu, a self-made business man and the founder of the Mengtian Group; the largest wooden door manufacturer in Asia.

Based in Shanghai, she is the founder and CEO of Yu Holdings, the young conglomerate that is helping to shape the creative and cultural landscape through its dedicated decisions for investment, business and philanthropy. Yu’s unique savoir faire for both business and the arts has led her to fast become one of the world’s most influential young entrepreneurs.

INVESTMENT

In 2015, Yu founded investment funding company Yu Capital to support high potential, high growth technology, fashion and lifestyle enterprises with the potential to become market leaders. In 2018, Yu Capital evolved to become Yu Holdings. 

The company’s investments in fashion include British womenswear brands Cefinn and Mary Katrantzou, as well as sustainable accessories label, Bottletop. Other technology-led investments include Farfetch.com, LOCA, Tuija and Didi Chuxing.


PHILANTHROPY

Yu is passionate about using her power and influence to give back. With an emphasis on creativity and female empowerment, she is an active philanthropist and, according to Vogue International, one of today’s most prominent patrons of fashion.
